Contracts not honoured

Just sitting in my living room and poof, there goes out the electricity and for the first time I wondered why is the electricity company not honouring their end of the contract since I honoured my part of the contract by paying as they requested. To the best of the small knowledge I have, if a contract is broken, the court must be involved. Why then are Nigerians not fighting for their right in the court of law until this daylight robbery is righted and the perpetrators brought to book. But why!
